Can it be assumed that this skill grants 15% movement speed since the elementalist equivalent Windborne Dagger grants 15% movement speed? 131.128.149.21 14:21, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't know, but I wonder if one dagger is enough to get the full bonus or each dagger stacks the effect. For example, each dagger gives 10% speed, so with two daggers you get 20%. Gnarf 17:23, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
I don't think so. I think it has to be read "wielding at least one dagger..." --Venyo 19:20, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Does this stack with Signet of the Locust? --Venyo 19:20, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Speed Stacking[edit]

September 2012 Test Results (outdated)[edit]

I just ran a few tests running between two points. Here are my conclusions and the data:

 1. This trait only gives 10% max speed. Having a dagger in both hands does not yield 15%. Only the better of the two listed bonuses will apply.
 2. This trait does not stack with Signet of the Locust, regardless of whether your dagger is off hand, main hand, or both.

Test/Data: I put my back to a tree and face planted into another tree off in the distance. I figure my reaction times add about 0.2 seconds of variation in the calculations. Thats 2.1% difference -- hopefully small enough to isolate from the 5% off-hand speed bonus. I gave my toon a 10 second rest between laps to make sure he was fresh for each trial.

 - No bonuses: 9.44s (100%)
 - Off hand dagger: 8.89s (94.1%)
 - Signet: 8.55s (90.5%)
 - Main hand dagger: 8.51s (90.1%)
 - Signet + off hand dagger: 8.46s (89.6%)
 - Signet + both daggers: 8.40s (88.9%)

January 2013 Test Results (Current)[edit]

Traveling 2400 in-game units (based on attack range, using the center of Necromancer's staff marks):

- Locust Swarm 6.0 seconds (33% movement buff)
- Spectral Walk 6.0 seconds (33% movement buff)
- Signet of the Locust 6.5 seconds (25% movement buff)
- Main and off hand daggers 6.5 seconds (25% movement buff)
- Main hand dagger only 7.0 seconds (15% movement buff)
- Off hand dagger only 8.0 seconds (0% movement buff)
- Staff (no speed buffs) 8.0 seconds (0% movement buff)

The maximum speed buff overrides all lesser speed buffs. There is absolutely no stacking, with the exception of dual daggers in conjunction with Quickening Thirst (15% + 10%).

The offhand dagger alone (or with main hand weapon such as a axe/scepter) did not apply. Main hand dagger is mandatory for Quickening Thirst to work.

Testing procedure: Using the Staff you can mark the ground in opposing directions of a straight road or path (range: 1200 in each direction from the center of the mark). Using this method, you can create a perfect 2400 unit testing area from yourself, then begin testing from the middle of one mark to the middle of the other. Each test was conducted 10 times exactly. The results did not vary by more than .05 seconds, so each has been rounded to the nearest 1/10th of a second. Based on the offhand dagger speed not applying on its own, it is assumed that Quickening Thirst was meant for main hand dagger builds only.
