Ziya does mention something about "imbue a minor Brand resistance" when you get this buff, I somewhat assume a small percentage of defense against branded enemies...but who knows. I know in Vabbi that the Brandstorm kills you on down state, but the brandstorm in Jahai Bluffs doesn't.
