Illegal[edit]

in some Country it is illegal to selling any unknow random open box prize inside any Internet online game.--151.199.34.224 22:34, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Like Where? In those countries they probably do not allow online games anyhow, nor free online access. --Event boss (map icon).pngDavid 15:20, 5 July 2012 (UTC)
where the hell you get free internet? Justice 07:11, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

I assume they mean free as in freely accessible, not censored or restricted, rather than not costing anything. I have to say that seems like an oddly specific rule. I've heard that in some places you can't sell an item or service without telling people what it is, but never that it applies only to online games. And I think this would come under the same catergory as raffles and things. You know pretty much exactly what you're getting - 2 common and 1 rare mini from a relatively short and clearly defined list. You just don't know exactly which ones. Also I'm not 100% sure but I think since the servers are in the US and Germany and the sale takes place on the servers the transaction is considered to have taken place there and so only US and German law is applicable. Danikat 12:01, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Looking at the 'Interactive Gambling Act' in Australia is specifically states "The law applies to all interactive gambling operators... whether they are based in Australia or offshore." (Wikipedia). I think we can't make assumptions for other countries being similar, but the definition of gambling is based on that country and that country only. Considering this item can be bought with real-world money and has a variable in-game value who knows? Seeing as the end result in every case DOES NOT result in real-world monetary value, maybe it's a grey area? We'd need a lawyer to fully answer that. 165.154.50.79 16:11, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Given that you're 100% guaranteed to be rewarded with an item with no real life value (excluding the illegal sale of goods for irl cash), I'd say it wasn't really gambling at all. 109.149.130.47 17:37, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Rare minis[edit]

Updated page noting that you can get rare minis with the pack as well. Anybody know if you can get Exotic rarity minis through the pack? --c29o 19:30, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

As far as I'm aware this is the only way to get any of the non HoM/Collectors edition minis*, so I assume they all have to be available from the packs. * Except buying them from the trading post of course, but that means someone else has to have gotten them first. Danikat 11:51, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Exotics don't seem to drop from packs, but can be mystically forged from rares some percentage of the time.

Common & Uncommon[edit]

The game doesn't have these designations. Minis are Fine, Masterwork, Rare, or Exotic. So what do these terms mean? Assuming that rare isn't common, there are two possibilities.

  1. Common = Fine & Uncommon = all else.
  2. Common = Fine + Masterwork; Uncommon = Rare + Exotic.

Which is it? The notes should make this clear. 75.37.20.44 16:38, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

As a purely speculative guess, I would think

  1. Common = Fine, Uncommon = Masterwork (and possibly Rare)

I bet that exotics have to be crafted from mystic forge Nbaird2 16:23, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Aquisition[edit]

I have 3 mini's, 2 blue + 1 green, in the "Mini-Pets" collection section (not the "Mini-Pets (Special)" collection section. These came from a Minis 3-pack. I've never used gems to purchase mini-pets. I thought I had obtained them from a Black Lion chest/key in the first few weeks the game was out, but can't remember for sure. Was looking on wiki to see if they came from a chest or something else, but see no evidence of that. I know I didn't acquire them from directly from the gem store, but can't 100% for sure remember how it was I did acquire them. I've beaten the game with one character, but don't recall it coming through game completion means. If anyone knows this mysterious means of acquisition, it could be added to the minis 3-pack or the miniature page. There is the chance this came from a black lion chest, but that the chests have been updated to no longer provide these. --Mooseyfate 16:12, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

My guess is you bought them from the trading post. --178.118.36.40 11:05, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

Online store availability[edit]

According to this redditor, this pack can still be purchased without rebuying Heart of Thorns. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 08:35, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Interesting. Wonder if that's intended behaviour though. Added it to the page; thanks! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 10:25, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
