Grateful Merchant[edit]

Do you think there should be a page on Grateful Merchants? Or should it just be implemented here?--ShananylDracon (talk) 16:41, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

What's a Grateful Merchant, where do you find them, and what do they sell? Is it significantly different from what the standard merchants offer? —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 17:00, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
As far as I can tell, it's just a description in a map icon. I've seen Lionscout Tynuli's icon show that in the minimap. I can be hard to see since he is really close to another merchant. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 08:31, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

Zone-specific gathering implements[edit]

I noticed that some merchants in lower-level zones sold only high-level implements to high-level characters. In fact, the majority of merchants in the low-level zones only sell mithril and orichalcum implements to level 80 characters.

Because I'm a cheapskate, I generally use implements that target whatever node at which I'm gathering. I use steel ones for Tukawa and Fir saplings, but copper for Aspen and Kertch saplings. So, I have to hunt around for someone to sell me a zone-appropriate implement.

There are usually only a handful of merchants in any given zone that sell zone-appropriate implements. So, I've been compiling a list of merchants selling zone-specific gathering implements. Then I look over the list when my implements get low on charges.

Is there any value to adding some kind of attribute to merchants' descriptions on the Wiki? If so, is that value outweighed by the time it would take to implement and maintain? Also if so, we should discuss it before we start making changes. There might be other issues. Daddicus (talk)

We've noted some discussion. There isn't a reason to document the scaling merchants because you can go to WvW merchant one (and the recently added PvP lobby merchant).--Relyk ~ talk < 00:13, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
True, but there is the double zone-transition and the run to the merchants. But, you could be right: the payoff might not be worth the work. Daddicus (talk)
