Serpent Strike video[edit]

Do we have an official confirmation that Hornet Sting is the skill she uses at the end of the Serpent Strike video? Chriskang 23:12, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Not that I know of, but it fits the description of the skill that we got to a T. I'll try to find the post on it.Here it is.--Corsair@Yarrr 23:19, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Still not a full confirmation. Anyway, with this and the Pc Gamer interview, I'm convinced enough. I'll upload the "presumed" animation tomorrow. Chriskang 23:29, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually we can be sure of this, because wielding a sword, there's only three skills from it. The first is a chain skill, which doesn't have any parts fitting the description, hornet sting and serpent strike. No utility skills are based on weapons, so we can be sure it's hornet sting. The backdoor is the dagger, it would technically have one more skill after it being thrown. Anyway, I'm fairly sure that it was Hornet Sting.--Corsair@Yarrr 04:20, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
She doesn't actually hit with her sword in the video, she throws a bee. Pretty much a 0% chance that it could be a different skill, tbh. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 05:25, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
The skill shown in the animation is definitely Hornet Sting. The animation consists of your character summoning one of those bee swarms from GW and you jumping back. I kept falling down from some higher platforms because of this. Note: Don't put auto-attack on this when you're high up. --91.19.115.52 22:05, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Updated description[edit]

I thought should be mentioned that despite of the word Swiftly it doesn't apply swiftness to the player. It can be seen in the same video at 0:56. 82.131.236.98 14:39, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Arenanet's Humor[edit]

This skill and its followup, "Monarch's Leap", is likely a reference to "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."76.178.154.238 10:28, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Except they did get it backwards, because first you sting like a bee, then you float like a butterfly. Go figure.72.161.125.142 06:32, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
