Not sure the statement: "There is a cooldown of about 10 minutes after the Ember dies; the powder will be consumed but the Ember won't be summoned" is true or accurate. I just fought a champion on my own and continually summoned the Ember and Mortar Seed when the previous ones died. There was no cooldown between either of them.124.122.167.18 12:38, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

  • Page has been updated, there is indeed no cooldown, however when the summon bugs and it doesn't actually summon an Ember, it will have a cooldown of 5 minutes. (I think because the server thinks there is actually an Ember up, while it is actually not) -- Axolotl 13:58:59 June 11th 2013 (UTC)

Why this item is so used? Is it really that useful having an Ember at own side? 79.33.203.19 20:42, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Unlike other summons, the fire elemental was as powerful as a normal fire elemental like you would encounter in the world. That is to say, it was more powerful than normal summons. But more than that, this fire elemental laid down fire fields, which you could use blast finishers in for area might. Lastly, they're dirt cheap and in that respect, no matter how little damage they do, its more damage then without them. Psycho Robot (talk) 20:51, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Weird: these (along with Pocket Jade Armors, and possibly more summons) now pop up as salvagable, but do nothing when you try to salvage it. Maybe just a bug with release of End of Dragons. Quazarjim (talk) 05:04, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
