Icon[edit]

So with regards to the icon. There is File:Dessa's Alchemist (map icon).png, and File:Dessa's Alchemist.png. Both are slightly different. The second one is what we see as hovering over the npc when we look at it; the first is what shows up on the mini-map. I agree that 128x128 is what looks nicer but is this the "right" choice? I really have no idea, it just seems to me that previously icons were the ones on the minimap, not overheads. I'd be glad to be wrong so it looks nicer, but just want to make sure. -Darqam (talk) 17:50, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

What you see on the map, and what you see while in front of the NPCs are two different icons, like you said. Map icons should only be placed on area pages as a way of showing the different services; if we used 128x128 for that, it would be too large, and if the 32x32 map icons are placed on NPC pages, they either look blurry or small to be as recognizable as the overhead icon.
As for consistency, I believe most of our services use 128x128 (cropped) icons, such as File:Merchant.png, or File:Repairs.png. If you want, you can crop them to eliminate some of the whitespace surrounding the icon, but I think it looks fine as is. —Ventriloquist 18:29, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
