Talk:Conjure Flame Axe

As a D&D geek, I feel compelled to note that the name and icon of this skill are extremely similar to the name and effect of a D&D spell of the same name. Trivia entry Y/N? Zolann The Irreverent 17:13, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- I don't recall a D&D spell called Conjure Flame. I looked through 2nd-4th edition books and found nothing. Can you elaborate? --Emelend 17:35, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's 3.5 Ed. Conjure Flame is a first-level Druid spell, and it creates a small fireball in your hand that you can bitch-slap people with or thow, does 1d6+1/level (to a maximum of +10), lasts for 1 minute/level, -1 minute per throw. Reletively often overlooked, as far as I can tell. In the hard-bound books it's right under the pic for Prismatic Wall. ...I'm a geek. Zolann The Irreverent 18:00, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- That sounds more like Produce Flame, but I don't own any books, so I could be wrong. Venom20 18:08, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- While my memorization of the trivial details of various games/'verses is near-complete as well as being near-useless, my memory of names is leakier than a colander. You are, in fact, extremely correct. Zolann The Irreverent 18:13, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Awww...I missed a Dungeons and Dragons discussion :(...But yeah, its much more like Produce Flame imo Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 14:44, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- You just broke the wiki. Anyways, this skill sounds fun. ***EAGLEMUT*** TALK 14:53, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Conflicting skill description?[edit]
On the GW2 site's elementalist page, it specifically states "For instance, she uses Conjure Flame to create a fiery rock to hurl at the enemy." Where did we get what this skill does? Videos? Ruse (talk) 00:16, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure where we got this from, but remember, GW2 is currently in development. Anything can change. Even the title. Eive 00:44, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- True, but unless we know where this description comes from I'd be more likely to trust the official Web site, even if the info is a few months old. Ruse (talk) 01:10, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- A few come from the guru skill compendium thread. They were compiling information from the videos from various conventions, people's stories and even some from the wiki here if someone bet them to the info. Our information doesn't match their information for this skill - they might have the source in the thread somewhere. In the end I'm not especially concerned - as Eive says it's all going to change before release anyhow. -- Aspectacle 01:11, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- They list their description for this skill as "unconfirmed" (thanks for link). I still vote for the official site's description for now, but in the end I'll leave it up to the regulars. I DO think we need to be as accurate as possible now, even if a lot does change. But then, I'm a journalist so I tend to take a hard line on unconfirmed information. :) Ruse (talk) 01:30, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- I remember watching a video and it did indeed create 3 lava axes that could be thrown to inflict damage. I can't remember where it is, or the title. But they were messing around with it after they killed the Shatterer.--Corsair
@Yarrr 01:39, 25 October 2010 (UTC)- I remember that as well. We got a lot of Ele skills from Gamescon. Eive 01:42, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- Good enough for me then. :) I haven't watched a lot of those videos because I don't want too many spoilers, heh. Ruse (talk) 02:03, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
- I won't say anything, but I can assure you that the Human video simply shows the first few minutes of the game. The Charr gameplay has kinda spoilers, but if you stay on this wiki long enough, you'll hear them anyways. Eive 04:34, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
