Talk:Chest of Exotic Equipment

Level? Has anyone captured data yet on what level of exotics these drop? Is it more advantageous to open this with a higher level character? If the level is determined by character, is it determined when opening the Chest of Exotic Equipment or when the Chest of Exotic Equipment is awarded? If the latter, one would want to accept the award on his highest level character.

It is day 6 or 7 of login rewards for most of us. We will get the first data on day 14. I would imagine the level is determined by the character who opens the chest. Tyndel (talk) 16:51, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

When you open it, you choose another exotic chest of a particular class. The class chest always contains level 80 gear. 24.180.102.190 00:10, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to go for the level closest to the character opening it either, because I just opened the chest on a lvl 8 character (it's the only character on that account), and it still gave me a lvl 80 piece of armor. But I've got pretty much anything between lvl 70-something and lvl 80, never anything below, on my main account where I've opened it on lvl 80 characters. -Tulen elementti (talk) 06:52, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Has anyone found the list of items found for each profession? for eg, What is the difference between Warrior & Guardian?

I'd guess that the difference is that guardians can for example get torches, scepters and staves, which warrior can't get. And vice versa with weapons that warrior can use. Feedback 2015/08/19

So do we know what type of Exotics come out of the respective profession boxes? (i.e. do you get L80 or underleveled exotics; can you get unique-named or even Precursors or just standard exotics?) --64.9.106.202 13:32, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

You can get exotics down to level 76 at minimum. I haven't had a unique-named or precursor from them, but hey I've only opened 6 of them. -Chieftain Alex 13:35, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Relation between class name and gear type

Whenever I pick Necro gear I get Berserker items. Is this a coincidence? Is there a mapping between the class names and the gear types? If so can that be included in the wiki.

Elite Spec

Can you choose the stats or is it random too?

I assume from the point under the Notes section that the level of the item is random, and which weapon type or armor piece you get is also random.
If the stats are random, how does the choice of class chest (of the 9 you can pick) affect which stats you get? --124.197.82.54 18:51, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

It is an entirely random piece of equipment that meets the criteria "X" profession can equip it. You don't choose the prefix, but if for example you picked engineer, then if the item is a piece of armor, then it would be medium. -Chieftain Alex 19:16, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
