Does this increase health gain by 50%, or both health gain and damage? - VonBoomslang 14:36, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

It seems to only increase health gain, not damage. But I am curious how this Trait stacks with Vampiric Rituals. TimRAR 20:49, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Testing with various effects[edit]

I was wondering how this synergized with various other traits and skills and did some testing on the downed enemies in the starting pvp area, here are my results.

Vampiric Master: Minion attacks healed me for 79 with or without this trait. Minions do not seem to inherit this trait currently so it has no synergy with Vampiric Master.

Vampiric: attacks healed for 25 normally, 29 with trait. Its effect on vampiric seems to be minor and is probably not an additional 50% more healing on all parts of whatever equation they use to calculate the healing. Without more testing I do not know whether this multiplies the part of the equation that scales with healing power so the bonus it gives may or may not scale based on that attribute.

Life Siphon: Healed for 210 normally, 310 with trait. For Life Siphon it appears to act nearly correctly, being slightly off of exactly 150% of normal healing. The small difference here has probably the same root cause as the small effect it has on vampiric, it just seems close as the original number is much larger here. Tested this today and can confirm that Bloodthirst does not work with Vampiric Master or Vampiric Rituals, but now correctly boosts healing from Vampiric (25 to 38 HP), Life Siphon (250 HP/tick to 371 -- still off by a minor margin), and Signet of the Locust. I'm going to remove those bug notes. I'm also going to remove this bug note: "The damage of Life Siphon skill doesn't increase while the healing is implemented correctly." My reasoning is that damage and health siphon values are always completely independent of each other, i.e. health siphoned isn't based off of damage (healing power, if anything). So according to the wording of Bloodthirst, it seems to do just what it says. tanpopo 16:20, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
However, the damage from Vampiric and Vampiric Precision DO scale with Bloodthirst. Life Siphon is the exception. I don't think it's completely correct.--Hydralisk mk2 19:50, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Oh right, I forgot about that. I think this could use some input from Anet as to what they consider "siphoning" or at least some kind of consistent implementation. For example, there's no indication that the siphoning on Life Siphon is tied to the damage you do, but there's the small ticks of damage from the traited siphons. Then there's stuff like Sigil of Leeching that "steals health" but doesn't do damage to the enemy (unless I've just never noticed it). tanpopo 02:48, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Per the February release, Bloodthirst now supposedly works with Vampiric Rituals and Vampiric Master, so testing should be done by someone. 12.68.145.225 21:57, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Testing in HOTM indicates this is now working with Vampiric Ritiuals. 10 and 25 dmg ticks from a well of blood without the trait, 15 and 37 ticks with it. Kaaboose 08:58, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
