why delete?[edit]

I don't see why this would be inappropriate. We have articles for voice actors (e.g. Claudia Christian), as a precedent for documenting people who are associated with GW2 although not directly employed by ArenaNet. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:41, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

On the contrary I would say that the singer of the release soundtrack of the game we document is highly relevant. So I totally disagree with the deletion proposal. poke | talk 20:04, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
I would also say retain the article, though I am concerned about the validity of the public domain tag on the photo since the rationale seems to be that it's on her facebook and linkedin profiles, which is certainly not the same as releasing it into the public domain. Good point Felix, it may be that Claret meant to tag the photo instead of this article. Guess we'll have to wait for her response here. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:41, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

If it's about the photo, the singer is wearing a backless dress. If someone is bothered with the nudity, photo can easily be replaced by another photo picked from Asja's FB page which is public. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.189.145.207 (talkcontribs).

Public does not mean public domain; as a rule, we can't just grab photos from facebook and upload them here. Felix Omni Signature.png 21:14, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Whose permission do you need? Asja's? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.189.145.207 (talkcontribs).

It's not a question of permission, exactly. If Asja were to explicitly release that photo into the public domain, or license it under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, we could use it here. This isn't just us being rule sticklers; it's a legal requirement that we are obligated to take seriously. Felix Omni Signature.png 21:21, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

So, this article should be deleted because the photo isn't public domain? Is that why it's inappropriate? You lost me. I thought it was about naked shoulders. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.189.145.207 (talkcontribs).

We are actually not certain why User:Claret tagged the article for deletion; we're waiting for elaboration from her, I think. In any case, the photo being a potential copyright violation doesn't warrant the article's deletion; we'd only remove the photo. Felix Omni Signature.png 21:33, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
User talk:Claret#A note, seems stephane is dealing with it.--Relyk ~ talk < 21:34, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
That's somewhat unrelated; his concern has to do with the wording of the deletion rationale, not whether the article should be deleted. That's what we're talking about here. The consensus so far is that the article should stay but the photo might be a copyright violation. Felix Omni Signature.png 21:36, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
No arguments with that.--Relyk ~ talk < 21:38, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Issue seems to be resolved, see File talk:Asja Kadric.jpg Ranique (talk) 19:40, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
