Talk:Adamant Guard weapons

I've got several Steam Weapons dropping for me and the icons are different. They're all full of mechanic components like grinds or saws. I can upload some images of the weapons if you want them for each weapon article. Lokheit 02:22, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

The name of these weapons changed. They're different from those that drop from enemies. Wombatt 04:02, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

I feel as though Steam Weapons should get their own category as opposed to being redirected into the Adamant Guard section for it makes it seem the only way to get the Steam weapon set is through the karma merchant. PlayedSun 10:11, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

From which heart vendors are they available? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 109.204.144.91 (talk) at 02:52, 2 May 2014 (UTC).

They are not actually avaliable from heart vendors. There was some shennanigans early in GW2's development where Adamant Guard were tier 1 cultural weapons instead of tier 3. Consequently, heart vendors in Ascalon sold weapons using those skins. At some point they were swapped with Steam Weapons. Now heart vendors only sell steam weapons. Sorry but if you want em you gotta shell out the big karma bucks. No shortcuts! I removed the (very) outdated information. Psycho Robot (talk) 02:56, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

Another way of obtaining skins in Chapter 2[edit]

I have find out that in Charr's personal story Chapter 2 Step 2 you can choose one of 3 weapons. One of them is Avenger's weapons - different for each race because it is cultural weapon. The weapon's skins are:
- Glyphic (Tier 1, Asura/Sylvari)
- Shiverpeak (Tier 1, Norn)
- Verdant (Tier 2, Asura/Sylvari)
- Aureate (Tier 2, Human)
- Adamant Guard (Tier 3, Charr) - specifically: Avenger's Staff, Avenger's Longsword, Avenger's Rifle, Avenger's Short Bow and Avenger's Hammer. There is also Avenger's Longbow, but the wiki says its skin is Verdant. It neeeds to be confirmed. I personally can confirm the Adamant Guard rifle skin for Charr Engineer.

I think it is useful to know. I don't know how to edit the page, so I write it here. Someone can put it in some note on the page.
