Easier Elements[edit]

These drop from any of the required enemies once you unlock the collection. It's easier to farm the lowest level elementals possible. Got all of mine in a few minutes.

  • Ice Elementals - The Grekvelnn Burrows (Wayfarer Foothills) - 10-12 Level 3-6 [&BGcBAAA=]
  • Fire Elementals - Wildflame Caverns (Metrica Province) - 12-14 Level 2, yellow [&BH4FAAA=]
  • Air Elementals - The Hinterlabs (Metrica Province - 12-14 Level 3 [&BPcEAAA=]
  • Earth Elementals - Western Divinity Dam (Queensdale) - 12-14 Level 3, yellow [&BFEFAAA=]

Magic find seems to increase chance to get the required items, I got all drops within 1-3 kills @349mf. or they simply increased the droprate in the meanwhile Tiavor (talk) 17:59, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
I disagree with low lvl elementals farming. Lower level monsters have small chance of dropping anything (it's adjusted to low lvl players with small inventory). so you will kill faster, but run more looking for them and in most cases game will roll "empty loot table". I've killed 50 Ice and 60 Air elementals, no luck, tried lvl 80 enemies - got both elements in under 10 kills each. Czokalapik Avatar Czokalapik.png 13:30, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Sounds like RNG that you are seeing Czokalapik. First Ember inside the cave just outside Rata Sum in Metrica dropped the element of fire for my level 80. I do have 240 MF (don't think MF matters though).---shmEk (talk) 09:28, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Heavy Houndskin Mantle?[edit]

It was too heavy for me so I chose a light one when I completed Draconis Mons. Does that mean I have to do the WvW reward track to get an new mantle box or is the fact that I have unlocked the skin enough? Either way it deserves mentioning - I just don't know the answer yet .... Manassas (talk) 09:34, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Unlocking one weight class of the Houndskin Mantle skin unlocks it for all three armor weight classes. Ojimaru (talk) 13:23, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Houndskin Mantle collection progress[edit]

If I complete the Draconis Mons mastery and open the chest for the mantle, and then later unlock this final collection quest, does it count towards this collection? Or should I wait until I'm on this collection quest to open it? Chausta (talk) 21:37, 9 October 2019 (UTC)

You can unlock it, it will retroactively count when you open this collection, don't worry. User Judas Sig.pngudas 15:56, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Awesome. Thank you. Chausta (talk)

Collection Unlocks In Some Kind of Order[edit]

After I unlocked this collection, my Houndskin reward box was on another character so I got the Elements of the Destroyers and made the first Runestone. I went to Kodama and it would not take the Runestone. So I found and opened my Houndskin box which unlocked that in the achievement but Kodama still would not take the Runestone. I had to wait until I had all 3 destroyer runestones, then Kodama took them all at one time.--Justaplayer (talk) 12:28, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
