Additional reason

I want to add an additional reason as to why I am running for bureaucrat. Note that this reason is not really that important, as it does not impact the community directly, which is why I am adding it to the talk page. As mentioned previously we are getting an API namespace where ArenaNet will be officially documenting their Guild Wars 2 API. To protect the integrity of the information, the namespace will be locked down by default and is only accessible (for editing) for a certain API editor user group. Part of that group will be ArenaNet developers that document the wiki, and trusted wiki editors that will maintain the namespace. I’ll be part of that group from the beginning.

Stephane further proposed that we would have some mechanism for editors to apply to that namespace, probably a very light version of the RfAs, just for API namespace access. That way, interested users could come from the forums here and either improve the documentation, or for example document information about their own tools that use the API (maybe similar to our player-made TexMod mods). In any way, I expect there to be quite a lot people going to be interested in the namespace (given the amount of people interested in the API), so the requests-for-API-namespace-editing could become quite busy. Originally he thought of me and ish doing that, but it requires a bureaucrat to change user groups. As such, I want to help Tanetris as a bureaucrat with that.

Of course, this does not need to be me, and any other bureaucrat can handle that as well, but I just wanted to mention it anyway. poke | talk 20:46, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
