"Walkthrough" suggestion[edit]

To me, that word implies a complex process with many sequential steps: we are going to walk you through the steps necessary for success. It applies well to personal story, dungeons, and jumping puzzles, but hearts are too simple, and the actions don't have to be performed in any specific order. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:20, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Revives[edit]

I believe reviving any allied NPC will give credit towards a heart. Some heart descriptions specifically mention reviving, most do not. Should reviving NPCs be listed in either case? Should the specific NPCs be listed? Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 19:15, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

There's a strange lack of consistency in general with hearts. Some people repeat in the contributory actions, everything listed in the infobox description, others do not. Most leave then "stubbed" so that the newcomer is wondering about what else there is. Personally, my opinion is that the contributory items should list anything not mentioned in the description. There's enough duplication of material on some pages anyway. --Claret (talk) 19:27, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
List anything and everything that progresses the heart.--Relyk ~ talk < 19:52, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
You would support a "Revive NPCs" bullet point on every heart page where its possible, Relyk? The heart descriptions can be vague, Claret, and rarely include the actual name of objects or specific NPCs, I think writing out a full list, even if it's similar to what the game says, is valuable. Yes, it helps greatly to mention when there are NPCs available for revival. It can be situational, like events or pulling NPCs within range of the heart. The wiki isn't limited to a 20 word summary fortunately--Relyk ~ talk < 20:37, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Lists[edit]

As I continue to try to edit heart pages, I find more things that aren't discussed anywhere and do not make sense to me. Some pages have lists of allies, foes, and objects. These should come up in the contributing actions list. Like on Help Shoon's salvage krewe deal with Inquest interference wouldn't it make more sense to say "Kill X, Y, and Z" than say "kill [affiliation]" and then have a list below? "Cause mayhem" doesn't mean anything, it should be a list of objects to interact with/destroy. I don't see any need to list allies at all. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 23:17, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Main reason to list allies is that if you don't, someone will come along and add them later. It's a semi-religious thing now. There is a huge amount of duplication and unnecessary "stuff" on hearts and events pages but that's the way people do them and know that it is the right way. OTOH, some of the allies are event/heart relevant, many are just there because that's where they hang out and largely irrelevant. But where to you draw the line? I think people have erred on the side of include everything. --Claret (talk) 23:32, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Notes positioning[edit]

I think the notes section is out of place below the completion mail. Notes are probably relevant to completing the heart and therefore should come after the walkthrough. Most heart articles don't use notes but it could be a good place to describe the fastest way to complete the heart, which would make more sense having it right after the walkthrough. See Train with the Company for an example. -BuffsEverywhere (talk) 09:46, 5 February 2019 (UTC)
