The Guild Wars 2 Extended Experience refers to ArenaNet's original plans to make the game more accessible from entertainment mediums other than the PC. For example, they were considering a Smartphone application that would allow players to view the world map, ping locations on the screen for their friends or guild members, and chat. Some of these functions would also be available via web-based applications.[1] Although this feature was not available when the game launched, the company always intended to offer some sort of method for players to create their own tools.[2]
