the space[edit]

Why are these pages being created with a space after the colon (e.g. "Recipe: Eggs Beetletun")? The template namespace doesn't have a space after the colon. Stylistically speaking, I think it should be like "Recipe:Eggs Beetletun" if we're having a recipe namespace. But wait, why would we? If there's a name conflict, then shouldn't it just be "Eggs Benedict (recipe)"?-- shew|make 02:47, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

For fundamental reasons, the recipe pages will probably all have the recipe at the end in parens (). In the Wiki world, the colon in a page name refers to its namespace, but recipes are not likely to receive their own namespace. Torrenal 02:51, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
Namespaces have to be configured as such. "Recipe:" does not map to any current namespace. The in-game items are named "Recipe: Eggs Beeteltun" and that's how they should be named on the wiki. Yes, it's unfortunate that it's a bit confusing, but I think this is one thing we have to deal with. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 04:14, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay, well I didn't realize they were named that. I agree with the current naming in that case.-- shew|make 14:52, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Item type[edit]

When you mouse-over the recipe sheet, does it say "recipe" or does it say "consumable"? Wombatt 00:58, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Missing Recipes[edit]

I picked up an armorsmithing recipe for Water Filter from Stout Darkmind on Diessa Plateau, but am not sure how to edit the main page to add this (it's a rebreather mask that grants +8 Toughness).

You don't edit categories. You create a page, and either specifically add the category to the page or use an infobox that does it automatically. The easiest way to create a new page is to copy the content of an existing article, then rewrite the necessary parts. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 23:03, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Page Style[edit]

For page style, do we want the recipe box with materials on the actual recipe sheet page, link to the actual item page with the recipe there, or both? I've seen it both ways, and wanted to know the best practice for future reference. -Firethorne 06:48, 26 October 2012 (PDT)

What about Category:Recipes ? Redundant?[edit]

One of those categories seems redundant. --Cyberman 04:54, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Recipes is separate from autocategorization done by infoboxes. It's used mostly for dpl query templates. Related discussion!--Relyk Christmas sig.jpg talk 05:07, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
Recipe sheets are items. Recipes are an intangible unlock, some of which are unlocked by recipe sheets. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:21, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
I see, thanks. That's why I don't like editing main pages, always there's something I don't see... I'll read up as soon as I have time, then.--Cyberman 14:43, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
