Veteran Captain Ferrine was formerly the human captain of a group of pirates active before the Rising of Orr. She, along with her entire crew, was cursed when they attempted to plunder the cursed treasury at Fort Cadence. The curse laid upon them made them into ghosts and forced them to guard the ruins for all eternity. Her curse is lifted by Scholar Yorix after he is escored through the ruins and is able to complete the "cursectomy" ritual. Upon being freed from the curse, she regains control of herself and goes to Battlement Shore to help fight the undead.

It was our own fault. We were greedy. The Fort Cadence treasury was cursed, but did we heed the warnings? Glory, no! Our punishment has been to guard the ruins for all eternity.

We sailed the seas and took from those who had more than us. We didn't realize how bad the Orrian invasion would become. If we had, we might have thought twice about raiding the fort's treasury. We were fools.

Notes

• She spawns in the treasure chamber even when the related events aren't up, and is a normal enemy in this case. Once the events start, she becomes  Determined until they conclude.
• Veteran Captain Ferrine can become friendly after the events for Scholar Yorix.
• Once she moves to Battlement Shore, she stays there until she dies. She cannot be resurrected, and the event chain cannot start again until she dies.
