Extended editor rights[edit]

Hi Tanetris, could you please give Greener ee rights so he can suppress redirects + stuff? I'm sure you remember that he was an admin on the old wiki and knows when to leave redirects. Cheers, -81.136.232.216 21:22, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Can’t he speak for himself? poke | talk 12:46, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
Just swung by the User Rights section to take a look at it myself. Nice to see that you've gone and created such a group. Having suppressredirect would be nice in terms of reducing RC spam, and I'm much more inclined to use undo over rollback anyways so I won't be abusing that tool. That’s good enough for me, request granted :) poke | talk 16:43, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
Oh c'mon, Poke... Hardly anyone uses my talk page anymore and you're not even gonna let me do it? (Hi Greener) - Tanetris (talk) 22:29, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Well, you get a thumbs up from me. I've had too many years of working with high schoolers, I fear I wouldn't know a genus if I were staring right through it (no, I didn't forget an i). G R E E N E R 08:00, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Sorry Tanetris, my talk page is equally boring (I assume this is a bcrat disease…), so I have to take every chance I get! poke | talk 19:00, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
I'd also like to have extended editor rights, mostly for image purposes related to the the Generic NPC Model project I'm working on with User:Konig_Des_Todes. - Doodleplex 17:43, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
Sure why not. - Tanetris (talk) 08:46, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Heya, I'm going to start trying to keep User:Darqam/Dat Icons up to date; which will involve me uploading a decent amount of images under temporary names before I get the correct ones. Might help to not have to tag delete every time. If not, I'm sure Ventriloquist will be overjoyed to have more deletion work to do :D. -Darqam (talk) 20:08, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
secondary edit: Derp; the comment was made to ask for extended editor right; in case that wasn't clear... -Darqam (talk) 20:09, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
Done - Tanetris (talk) 01:45, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Extended editor rights II: Something Something Boogaloo[edit]

Chieftain Alex suggested it to me, and I think it will save admins a lot of work when I'm eventually going to move some icons around. Also, I stalk the recent changes page so I could probably make use of this mysterious patrol feature. Tyndel (talk) 20:24, 30 July 2015 (UTC)

I don't think anyone actively uses the patrol feature, but the move without redirects is nice. —Ventriloquist 21:21, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
Done. Enjoy, and don't break anything. - Tanetris (talk) 18:10, 2 August 2015 (UTC)

Heart of Thorns texture[edit]

Without wanting to derail the CP logo discussion, have you got a version of the HoT logo texture without the "Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns" text on it? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 10:57, 7 January 2016 (UTC)

I do. I got Stephane to send me it. Not sure how widely he wants it shared considering it was sent through discreet channels, at least at full res, but if you wanna do some fooling around with it, could see what we can do. - Tanetris (talk) 23:50, 7 January 2016 (UTC)
Got the go-ahead from Stephane. Unedited exactly as they were sent to me: File:HoT Texture No Text.jpg and File:HoT Text.jpg. - Tanetris (talk) 05:26, 13 January 2016 (UTC)

Grand experiment indeed[edit]

You have my thanks in not telling me to "shut it", though I'd likely have told myself such were I you. I'm not one to rock-the-boat, and I know my attempts were ham-handed.

I pushed the wiki to see if it could reflect on itself, not agree with my words, but think for a moment about its sustenance and possibly growth. I didn't like using the RfA as the platform to stand on (and I owe Doodleplex an apology there), but I saw the second RfA dying to a resounding silence and thought, "Well, there's a soapbox." (one that I "conveniently" had created).

I remember talking with a CFO once about how to measure a company's health, and was told to look at the percent of returned goods. Too many, and you're shipping poor quality; too few, and your customers are apathetic. If you've got customer buy-in, then they'll be happy to tell you when you've made a mistake and will buy your product again even if the first was broken because they have confidence in you. They want to see you succeed because then they succeed. This wiki has too little blow-back, too few issues being raised by the community, too few people who know what's going on or feel invested.

This is what I've been seeing; this is why I was so obtuse; this is why I knowingly put you, poke, Doodleplex, and others in an awkward spot.

But I'm here to offer you my sincerest of apologies, and my thanks in letting my experiment play out. G R E E N E R 18:45, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

I’m fine being in an awkward spot, just saying. Especially so, when I end up missing all the fun. Sorry Tanetris; but you did well here. poke | talk 21:04, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
