PvE ideas haven't quite been explained so much. Maybe they will tell us how the system will work when they talk about game mechanics. Obie Quiet 18:10, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Reviving this discussion exactly a year later. PvE can be so much more explained now. EiveTalk 05:05, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
i like the layout of the bestiary, could we add it to pve and expand it?its a shame to waste a page like that... Getefix 20:51, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
@Eive: yes. I'll work on it. @Getefix: The bestiary is the bestiary, it should be there, not here, where it is only slightly related. If we were to do that, we should list all NPCs on this page, which is impractical. A link to the bestiary might not be too bad though. Aqua (T|C) 23:44, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Things sure move fast around here... EiveTalk 00:01, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
@Aqua, your edit emphasized events quite a bit, but that's not all there is to PvE. (Unless you intended to add that later, in which case I apologize.) Anyhow, rewards aren't unique to PvE (nor to events within PvE, and we're not sure if feats are either) but if you want to add it back with a more general sense I wouldn't oppose. --ஸ Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 00:39, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
I had no intent of leaving that article the way I left it. I just wanted to save my edits and check the rest of the wiki and return to it. (It was incomplete, to say the least.) Aqua (T|C) 01:34, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Noted, then. --ஸ Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 02:55, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Just a thought.[edit]

There are 25 zones, about 2.5 million people (or more) will be playing... You would assume there would be too many people around to be able to find enemies to kill and get anything done... Now don't get me wrong, there are different zones, but there are still going to be plenty of people around. 90.220.83.13 20:25, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

There will be a multitude of servers, as well as a whole lot of content. Your point being..? - Infinite - talk 20:28, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
his point being: It'll get crowded in Tyria.. thus we're in need of more servers (well that's what he says).
I'd say, we don't know yet. We don't actually know how much of Tyria is accessable (e.g. the Crystal Desert isn't at the initial release of Guild Wars 2 but many previous unseen areas are however.)
I do admit I'd prefer quiet worlds over crowded ones but I don't think this'll be a major problem in the first months or even years of the game's Existence .
Remember A-net is always able to add more servers and not every player will be in PvE or online for that matter.
Anyhow I wish you all a good night, Sleep Well! --you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 20:54, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
Nice theory, but it's based on nothing. I needn't repeat Infinite's point, but I'd like to add that the number of players you came up with is unrealistic. Assuming, say, 2.5 million players purchase GW2, how many of them do you expect to be online at the same time? That's right, not all of them. You'd need several times more players to purchase the game before there was that many players online. And they wouldn't be on the same server farm anyways. There will be American and European server farms (because it would be stupid if there wasn't) and most very likely Asian servers. So you'd need to take into account each "territory" has its own players which do not play together (forgetting possible international districts for now). GW1 has sold over 6.5 million copies. How many players do you think there's online right now? On the same server farm? Maybe a few hundred thousand on American servers, little more on weekends and even more during holiday/events. And even then that's only because most Europeans play on American districts which I think is complete stupidity, unless you're trading or socializing in general.
tl:dr: Shared kills and rewards. Mediggo 07:36, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Socializing in an MMO? Madness!
Anyway, let's let this section die, the point has been beaten in and isn't really relevant to the page itself. --ஸ Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig2.png 19:01, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Crafting is PvE?[edit]

I could have swore that I'd seen gathering nodes in WvW, a not-pve area. I am also looking for the 'versus' part of crafting, but failing to find it. Torrenal 02:24, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

gathering is very much you against innocent herbs, ores and trees. :) Honestly, it got put there when it didn't fit in with the 'vs Player' stuff and is a fairly big chunk of gameplay for some people. -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 03:53, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
