Invalid Commands[edit]

Is it just me or or do the /AFK and /invisible commands not work? Kcinshin 03:45, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Doesn't work for me either. 192.168.104.79 19:02, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

[ATTENTION][edit]

Typing [ATTENTION] into the chat box will print out a large amount of money. Currently circulating god, perhaps? Karew 23:23, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

[ARENANET] prints an even larger amount. Total gold earnings perhaps ? Minae Iss 12:44, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
This is epic guild troll command, please share more :D --79.179.224.162 21:10, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Doesnt seem to work for me, is it patched?

There has to be an ampersand before the code, [&ATTENTION]. I think that may have been added since this was first posted. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 22:55, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

Inviting[edit]

Is there any easier way to invite someone to a party than to type "/invite So-and-so" into the chat box? Some peoples' names are difficult to type! But I can't find any invite menu option. - Brian Kendig 16:34, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

You can right-click on a person's name in chat or target them and right-click on their character info in main window. 192.168.104.79 13:32, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
Right clicking on their name on chat doesn't show the option to invite to party
I think the inviting is very screwy. I could have sworn once in a while I can invite from the chat panel, but I don't know the pattern. It seems a bit silly to offer tons of options there except invite to party. And yes, with the propensity of accents, Umlaut, etc characters it gets to be a pain sometimes trying to invite folks. Yes, you can ask them to join your party, but you need to have at least one player in party already, which is also puzzling.

Experience Counter?[edit]

In GW1 typing /deaths would tell you how much XP you've accrued since your last death. I would like to know how to see how much current XP since death I have since there is an achievement for it in game.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:186.213.9.219 (talk).

Please sign your comments with 4 tildes (~~~~) also this is a suggestion and as such it should be posted on the official forums here we can't take suggestions on the wiki, so any further suggestions please post them there, also remember to keep talk pages about the actual page. thanks- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 01:27, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Unstuck command[edit]

I remember seeing mentioned somewhere that there's a command you can type if you're stuck (can't move or get out of somewhere). It would be good to add it here, and other useful commands like it. Thanks. --Alad 06:04, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

/stuck only tells the server your location and then tells you to way point out with the exception of fractals.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:47, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
So? It's a chat command, it should be documented. How else are people going to know about it? Read through all the patch notes from the beginning? Fbody (talk) 13:12, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
In HoT-Story-Instances it will teleport you to the beginning after 30s of inactivity ( but has a cd)
Please document the /stuck command because it really exists and players should at least know about it, even if the functionality is quite limited. In common PvE environment it may be not very important because a character is always able to use the nearest waypoint. This may be quite unpleasant if you stuck in the middle of a long jumping puzzle, but anyway. However, the situation is quite different in Fractals because of lack of waypoints, and reset (i.e. quit) will cancel all current progress:
          /stuck
          Your position has been logged.
Please use the button above your minimap to teleport to Dessa's lab.
The consequences of this logging are unclear: whether it is counted as a kind of bugreport and will be checked by QA personnel, or it will be written somewhere in the large server log and eventually ignored. I also can note that in fact the button which allows to leave the current Fractal is located near the right bottom corner on the screen, if the minimap has been moved to the top. --66.102.9.102 19:19, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

05/04/2017- How to get unstuck at least a way that may work, It has worked for me.. Guild Hall Needed, I was stuck inside a rock in Aurics Basin.. no command worked . I traveled to my Guild Hall then left the Guild Hall and found myself out of the rock and on the road, Hope this helps.

Current channel?[edit]

I'm completely new to this game (and MMOs in general), and I'm wondering whether I'm not sending out my chat properly or if people just don't feel like answering me. It says that just hitting "Enter" defaults to "current channel". I'm guessing "current channel" is map, local, guild, etc? Is it because I've never used /yell or /map (since they're not listed on the reference card that came with the game and I only just saw them now) that it seems like nobody has heard me? 69.4.124.50 03:43, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Your current channel is shown to the left of your input box. You change your current channel using the commands listed in the table under "Activating channels". Each channel also appears as a certain color in the chat box: Map is red, Say is green, Guild is gold, Party is blue, Squad is yellow, and Whisper is purple. If you've only been using the Say channel, then yes, that's probably why no one responds to you - they can't hear you. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:57, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Ah, yes, it was green. Haha, looking forward to actually talking with people now. Thanks! 69.4.124.50 04:33, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
Also, check Chat panel if you haven't seen it yet - it explains the interface in a bit more detail. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 04:43, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

WvW[edit]

This section lacks information how the chat work in WvW. I recently heard that it is not possible to chat with nme. Maybe it is possible to communicate with emotes Yes4me (talk) 07:37, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

its not possible it used to be but they patched it now when you do the /emote text all it says is "invader used a emote" -User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 08:55, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Localisation[edit]

Isn't there going to be a table with all the localisations? Like on GWWiki. Example: /si is the Spanish version of /agree (I know this is should go to emotes) but also /d opens squad chat like /squad and I haven't really figured out why exactly :D Howellq (talk) 12:35, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Since we have an official wiki in each supported language, we should just need provide interlanguage links to their equivalent pages. I've added links for de: and es:, can't find an equivalent on fr:. The de: page doesn't actually exist yet, and the es: page only lists the English commands (it's a copy of this page with the notes translated), it doesn't list the commands in Spanish.
/d is the global shortcut for /squad, because /s is the shortcut for /say.The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dr ishmael (talkcontribs) at 14:08, 28 July 2013 (UTC).

Age command changed?[edit]

I tested the /age command today and got a different result from previous usage. I only get the information pertaining to a single character, and no "x time across all characters". Has this been changed at some point without being documented?

Feedback 2015/07/27 "/report"[edit]

The guide for /report needs to be added. --98.202.111.152 23:13, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/03/07[edit]

Given that many new players are trying out WvW with the introduction of the new mount, it might be worth clarifying how /t and /m work in WvW, as:

/t = seen by your entire team on all 5 maps (includes Obsidian Sanctum, possibly 6 depending on how Armistace Bastion has been implemented)

/m = seen by your team in your current WvW map

In PvP, /m also talks to your enemies, so players used to this may default to using /t and not realize how widely they are broadcasting, and that they have the choice to constrain their chat to the map without alerting the enemy. --74.65.208.122 23:19, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Documenting keybinds[edit]

From what I understand this article is about "chat commands", in other words, commands typed in the chat box. However, it includes things like Shift+click, Shift+Enter, Tab etc. Shouldn't those be removed since they can be found in Options article already? --Txonä Atan - (talk) 23:24, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

I agree they do not belong here, but I also think they do no harm here and are helpful to keep all stuff on one place, so I'm for keeping them. DJemba (talk) 05:58, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
They are related to the chat box - reason enough for me to keep them here too. —Kvothe (talk) 14:53, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Yeah somehow they felt a bit misplaced but actually most of them aren't mentioned elsewhere as I though so (Shift+click items per example). Alright, thanks for the inputs. --Txonä Atan - (talk) 22:59, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

PVP /stuck[edit]

so first time doing this so hope is not wrong but, /stuck command works if stuck in pvp and i think it should be mentioned, it kill you 30 after activated if its not cancelled, i didnt get to read what does cancel it, this was in ranked and was stuck behind a wall in home so i was never goin to be kill so i randomly tested and worked big box telling me and everything --Matsuriko (talk) 08:28, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for the feedback, Chieftain Alex added the information. —Kvothe (talk) 20:39, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

Reload map / switch to new map instance[edit]

Is there a command that lets players switch to a new map instance if the map version they are on is bugged/event chain stalled? I was advised to switch to a new map if the event chain I need appears to be stalled. I've tried the log out to character select, but I keep getting put back in the same map version instance. ZianaSue (talk) 16:30, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

The only way is through right-clicking a party or squad member that's in another instance and choosing Join in map.... --Txonä Atan - (talk) 20:52, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
