Suggestions/Ideas[edit]

Consumable Weapons

The idea is that you can buy or get from a drop an environmental weapon, that is consumed when used much like a potion. For example; you could buy a spear from a weaponsmith with which you can double click to use. When used it replaces your skills bar for a set period of time. Once the time runs out your bar returns to normal and the weapon is consumed. There could be many types of weapons which normally could not be used by your chosen profession and it would also allow the devs to create different and unique weapons without the need for rewritting professions to use them, such as halberds, scythes, crossbows, etcs.

Aquatic Armour

This is enchanted armour which provides a bonus to your movement speed while under water and also allows you to breath without the need for potions. It could have flipper like feet and maybe even fin like wings on the back to help you glide through the water. However, due to its aquatic nature it would be less effective than normal armour when on land, giving a movement penalty and less armour while out of the water.

This does not need to be limited to a full set of armour. There could be enchantments for different pieces of armour such as: a helm that allows water breathing, boots that increase swim speed, gauntlets that allow you to wield weapons normally restricted to land based combat, etc.. Of course these items would have to have some sort of penalty while on land to compensate for their watery benefits.

So we now have breathing apparatus, I guess there are like-minded people working at ArenaNet. :) - Infinite - talk 14:55, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm glad they added that tbh. I was a little worried when they first mentioned using potions. Not that it would have been that bad, but I feel it is much better if you can feel free to jump into the water at any time without worrying about whether you had any potions on you or not. It didn't fit with Anet's phylosophy, but the breathing apparatus does :) - Rin Aki 15:37, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Mhmm, but mind, you can still get it knocked off and drown! I guess that just adds to the appeal and realism (as far as realism goes in a fantasy world). - Infinite - talk 15:42, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't mind that, it's all part of the underwater experience. - Rin Aki 15:46, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Dual Sword Thief Skills

I know the Thief cannot dual wield swords, as far as they have revealed at least, but I thought I would share some ideas for skills just for the fun of it.

Dual Skill

  • Flashing Blades - (6 Initiative. Strike with each sword before entering into a defensive stance for X seconds. While in this stance you take less damage from the next attack, if it is a melee attack the enemy will be attacked with both swords.)

Off-Hand Skills

  • Jagged Cut - (4 Initiative. Strike with your sword and cause bleeding.)
  • Shadow Blade - (7 Initiative. Shadowstep to your target and strike with your sword, dazing your enemy.)

With these skills I have tried to provide the Thief with the option of taking on a more defensive role, while at the same time allowing them to keep the pressure on their target. I like the Thief as is, but would be very happy if they added off-hand sword attacks :).
