Items for rangers[edit]
(sorry about title, I think that's how to enter title, but this is my first wiki tread/post and I am kinda lost, so I hope this goes to the talk sections)
Anyway, why would a Ranger have a greatsword? A large two-handed weapon is cumbersome, and I can think of no reason why a profession based on tracking/bets/bows and arrows would have such a burden to carry around? It could only slow a ranger down, and has nothing in common with what a ranger is anyway. If it had a sword, I could only think about a small machete-like weapon to cut shrubs or whatever in the off-hand.
And also, why doesn't a ranger have a gun as a viable choice? In my opinion, a gun is something that a lot of trackers would have due to the quick kills it could inflict, as well as relatively light weight.

- Generally discussions can either go on your own userpage, or something like this can even be discussed here on the ranger discussion page. One reason for the lack of guns is that there will be other professions with this option. The new combat system for GW2 is much different than GW1. We have yet to see the skills associated to the ranger whilst wielding a greatsword, remember the skills will be different than other professions who may use a greatsword. The ranger itself does not necessarily mean archer, this adds another level to playing possibilities for one. Venom20 20:12, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
