User Gammler Guild Bank Empty.jpg

The guild giveaway consists of a random roll from 1 to 100. The background of each square represents the value range of the prize:

  • 1 through 80 (Green BG) are valued from 1 to 10 gold (80% chance) [COMMON]
  • 81 through 95 (Yellow BG) are valued from 10 to 25 gold (15% chance) [UNCOMMON]
  • 96 through 100 (Magenta BG) are valued from 25 to 100 gold (5% chance) [RARE]

The percent chance of each prize range will most likely not change often.

The colored outlines represent the reward category (most of them offering a selection for the winner). These further show the percent chance of winning a specific item. Periodically, I will poll the guild members to vote whether to increase or decrease each category's weight (how many squares they take up), as well as vote on whether to add a new category or remove an existing category.

Finally, my reasons why I'm switching the giveaway to this method. Firstly, this allows the leadership to avoid having to spend gold to keep an entire bank tab stocked up (I spent over 300 gold buying items I didn't already have for the giveaway and most of that value has yet to be won). Secondly, this allows the price spent to match the value won (I spent over 50 gold to put Bloodletter into the giveaway, and by the time it was won, the value of the weapon had already dropped below 25 gold). Lastly, this allows the actual giveaway participants to mold the giveaway's contents to match what they'd actually like to receive from it.
