  • ~1994-98: MicroProse addict (Masters of Orion, Civilization plus others - Sid Meier fan)
  • ~1998-01: Various games on better and better PC's
  • ~2001-02: The Sims
  • ~2002-05: Elder Scrolls Series
  • ~2005-07: Guild Wars
  • ~2007-10: World of Warcraft
  • ~2010-11: Mass Effect Series
  • ~2011+: Guild Wars

Through the years, there have been many others titles in addition to the those listed above. Some of the notables are: Wing Commander Series, Baldur's Gate Series, Neverwinter Nights Series, Wizardry 8, Might & Magic / Heroes of Might and Magic Series, rest of the Sims Series, Need for Speed Series, Dungeon Siege Series, Diablo Series, and Starcraft Series. I recently watched G4TV's "100 Best Video Games". I have played 84 of the 100.

I have almost always been a PC gamer. I play limited console, but in general I feel console games lack the depth and game play detail. For many years, my preference was turn based (or if real-time action, then games where you can pause/hide and think). Another very strong preference is "building" type games, either building communities (Sims, Starcraft) or building characters (all RPGs, but also Need for Speed). It was not until Guild Wars that I starting playing on-line graphical RPGs. Previously to 2005, my internet connection was very, very slow (I live in the country). Regarding playing preferences, I am a PvE player. I spent too many years with slow connection speed to get into PvP type games. All references to characters are PvE (storyline) characters.

I cannot complete this short gamming history without giving total credit to "Realms of the Dragon", which started it all. Note: There were concepts in that LPMud that I have never found in any RPG since.
