Race:Sylvari

Time of Day:Night

Season:Winter

Story:

"With this, Grenth spoke, saying, 'Ecca, my child, I can teach you no more. Descend upon the mortal world and bring me the souls of the dying and those without moral sense.'"

Born at night in the dead of winter, Ecca was spawned from the great Pale Tree. Ever since birth, Ecca has always been a mischievous little Sylvari. Even as she grew, her personality never seemed to mature. After a long history of trickery, she made herself somewhat of a nuisance. She was later chased from the Grove for attempting to steal the Ventari Tablet, a sacred relic among the Sylvari. After being exiled, she wandered the forests in search of a purpose. She walked through endless days and nights, until she came upon a sort of cave. Due to her natural curiosity, she decided, at once, to investigate. She hadn't realized the depth of the cave until the world around her was blanketed in darkness, but she continued on, using her hands to navigate along the cave walls for what seemed like hours, until she noticed a light ahead. Figuring she had reached the other side, she kept her pace. When she reached the light, she looked up in awe at the dark, misty statue of Grenth, the god of death and malice. She stared at the stone carving in a mystified trance as a sickly, deep voice echoed from the statue, "Young Ecca, lend your mind and your soul to me. I can give you an eternal purpose; a purpose that only you can fulfill." As if she had been awaiting this moment her entire life, Ecca nodded once and sealed her fate. At this agreement, the statue creaked to life, lifting a heavy arm and resting a cold hand upon Ecca's head. She suddenly grew dizzy and spun out of consciousness, re-awaking in a land beyond the mortal mind; The Mists. From there, Grenth took note of Ecca's strengths, such as her remarkable beauty, and her talent in the ways of thievery and deception. He taught her the art of seduction, an extremely powerful form of physical black magic. He then instructed Balthazar to craft his newly found apprentice a dagger from the strongest obsidian from the Fissure of Woe. Shortly after her ascent to the Mists, Ecca quickly mastered many forms of black magic, mainly the physical arts. With this, Grenth spoke, saying, "Ecca, my child, I can teach you no more. Descend upon the mortal world and bring me the souls of the dying and those without moral sense," and with this, Ecca regained her consciousness at the entrance of the strange cave. She got to her feet, dusted herself off, and started the long journey back to the Grove, where she would inhabit the dreams of the departing and the cruel, bringing their fresh souls up to her god.
