All the GOLD You'll Ever Need[edit]

The secret to making Gold in Guild Wars 2 is actually quite simply ... being patient and consistent. While it is possible to get a very rare and valuable random-drop, for most it takes time that they are unwilling to invest for what is supposed to be a fun game. If you've decided that you want or need to take the additional time to make more Gold then read on.
Starting The Game[edit]
Under level-15 making serious Gold is almost impossible. You'll be more concerned with earning copper then later silver. The best way is to buy a set of gathering tools from a Merchant:
- Copper Harvesting Sickle
- Copper Logging Axe
- Copper Mining Pick
When you see a resource node on your mini-map, go out of your way to farm it. You can then either use the resources gathered for crafting or sell then on the Trading Post. Equipment (Armor, Weapons, Trinkets, etc.) should always be salvaged using a salvage kit, never sold. The reason is to get Luck which is used to increase your magic find.
However, IMHO your time is better spent quickly leveling-up to 20+. This is most effectively done by completing the steps in your personal-story and participating in the events that periodically appear nearby. You will get most of the equipment needed from your personal-story rewards. The only thing I'd recommend buying is more and larger bags so you do not have to return to base so often.
Level 20 and up[edit]
Although you can buy Iron Gathering Tools at level-10, you will not see comparable resource nodes until you enter map-areas above Level-15. Even then those resource nodes are guarded by mobs. It is generally not worth your time
