Template talk:Userbox preview

This needs category surpression from w:Template:Usbk but I'm not sure how it works. -- Nineaxis (talk) 16:08, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

The individual templates have to allow for category suppression, you can't force it from this template alone. Since these are userboxes, they should probably only add the category when used in userspace, so the best way to do this is to edit each userbox and change:

<includeonly>[[Category:(generic category name)|{{PAGENAME}}]]</includeonly>

to:

{{#ifeq:{{NAMESPACE}}|User|[[Category:(generic category name)|{{PAGENAME}}]]}}

That way, the category is only applied if the page begins with "User:" and is not applied anywhere else. See this diff for how I did this on Template:User Lyssa. —Dr Ishmael 16:18, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
