Is this template and category necessary? It was decided against using #REDIRECT since we can just link directly so I no longer see what purpose this template would fulfill. — Rhoot

- I'm not sure the consensus spans all icons this wiki knows, but if it does, probably translates to this template becoming obsolete. - Infinite - talk 23:29, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
- The arguments for removing redirects pretty much apply to all types of icons. We just need a bot run to get rid of the current redirects, so people looking at old files will realise they're no longer needed on newly uploaded ones. pling
