Protection

I don't agree with protecting this template, especially not indefinitely. It's only been vandalised once. Even if it's used on a lot of pages, protecting it due to one bad edit doesn't quite fit with the idea of everything on a wiki being editable. pling 16:31, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

I have to agree with Pling here. If were were to go based on “highly used, highly visible, unlikely to change”, we would have to protect very many templates. poke | talk 17:00, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

We could also tailor a filter to focus on templates. Say, if the template has {{ in it and any new revision doesn't have it again at all. --JonTheMon 21:29, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
