I got all the way to the end chest and it was dawn. The Celestial Cartographer's Gear did not work because I guess dawn doesn't count as night cycle for Astralaria. I logged out to wait until the next night cycle, but when I logged back in, I was no longer at the chest, but instead at the far north entrance to Lornar's Pass.
