Talk:Ruined Ore Chunk

I've received a few of these WITH the proper mining tool. For example, mining mithril ore with a orichalcum mining pick.

I have seen the exact same with Orichalcum mining pick and Iron and Silver ore. I was in combat during this times.

I am starting to believe the above are accurate rumours. Even with orichalcum mining picks I sometimes get Ruined Ore Chunks, and they only occur when I'm being attacked during the mining process (in combat doesn't seem to trigger this, though). It's not a very common loot during these attacks, but I've seen it happen often enough for it to appear related. - Infinite - talk 10:23, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

The description is wrong, you don't get ruined ore chunks only if the damage is above a certain number, because i got one while farming Orichalcum node in Southsun while being attacked by karka hatchlings, and even though they attacked me, i had the Arcane Shield on, and never entered combat because of it, didn't take any damage. 95.180.63.39 15:30, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
