It seems bugged to me. The progress bar can't be filled because the event mistakenly thinks there are still Skittish Marmoxes in the pen in Malor's Ranch, but when you move to that location, you are outside of the event area and thus don't have the special action skill anymore.

I think this meta chain (to kill the Beetle Queen) has been bugged since Episode 2 launched, but it has never been fixed or acknowledged by ANet. Once the beetle stampede event fails and triggers this "failure" branch, the meta is effectively stalled since this particular event is stalled. This is why the Beetle Queen is almost always never seen nowadays as Sandswept Isles isn't that active anymore.

A way to get the Beetle Queen achievement is to wait for a new instance (IP) of the map (like when a patch is released) and pray that the defend event succeeds. No idea how long it takes (after a new map instance is created) for that event to start though. --115.132.46.183 22:23, 24 March 2019 (UTC)
