How long will it last?

I believe Anet said this is a permanent addition. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:53, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Stats[edit]

I wonder if one bird wins more than the others. It might be interesting to track and see. :) - Tesla 21:05, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

While I can't say for certain, the consensus on Anvil Rock is that Motti seems to win more often than the others. Casual testing has shown a 66% win rate, but whether this is pure luck or there are other underlying factors, I have no clue. Perhaps it's time to start a research table? -Azure Fang (talk) 21:27, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
I know a good tactic. Don't bet on the one I do. Tends to lose :D Howellq (talk) 20:28, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
Everyone always says Motti wins the most, but apparently not for me. Out of 50 bets on Motti, she only won 4. 97.81.217.224 21:40, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Did this to get the Mini Yellow Moa in anticipation of the mini no longer being available due to changes to LA on 18-FEB-14. Started with 21 vouchers that I recall cost me ~3g. All bets were placed on Motti. Stats for this (mostly) consecutive betting session were: 12 first place (84 vouchers), 6 second place (18 vouchers) and 4 third place (4 vouchers), for a total of 106 vouchers. It was 22 wins in 39 races (56% wins) for 19g 50s. For this session, per voucher cost was ~18.4s and per race win was 2.7 tickets. Total cost of the mini was probably ~23g. Research[edit]

So out of curiosity I recorded the winner for 100 races. The first 80 are consecutive, the last 20 aren't (because it got boring) and 99 were on Desolation, 1 on an overflow. The results are a little surprising:

The Mystery Moas between them won 18 (I combined them because only one runs per race, they each won 6)

Mortt won 16

Meep won 18

Monna won 23

and Motti won 25

It's possible it would even out with more results, but I was adding them up every 20 races and the percentages were pretty consistent throughout. I'm still working on getting my mini though (I didn't bet on all these races) so I'll have more data to add later. Danikat (talk) 21:10, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

How is that surprising? 20 is the "expected" number of wins for each and for only 100 races, it's typical RNG for 1:5 to turn into as many as 25 or as few as 16 wins. If you play 100,000 races, then the numbers will be closer to 20% each, but never exactly 20%. 75.37.23.5 04:19, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Events[edit]

Standard event text appears below the meta event information, and a the medal animation when it's over. It can succeed or fail. It's more of an event, with a location, NPCs, win/loss condition, meta event, and rewards than many of the other holiday events that are part of games and have had pages for a long time. The Bell Choir had objectives, an indicator, level, and possible walkthrough if someone wanted to add notes. It's not a dynamic event players participate in with objectives and doesn't provide event rewards. Just because the activity uses event mechanics, doesn't mean we need to document trivial event pages. All the pages do is direct people to the activity for actual information. there's nothing we can stick on it except an infobox and a single sentence.--Relyk ~ talk < 03:47, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Just because it's short doesn't mean we shouldn't use the event info box. This one even offers three levels of rewards, just like any other event. As the OP states, it follows the same patterns and judging by the questions in map chat and the confusion around whether there's any pattern to the winners, it should have a walkthrough of some sort. 75.37.23.5 04:23, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
