Hounds of Balthazar?[edit]

Is this just a more feeble version of Hounds of Balthazar? :o ~ 94.168.152.73 13:49, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

We don't know yet, but I have seen many people speculating that this is a weaker version of Balthazar since they are similar and Mistfire summons only one pet while Balthazar summons two. User Mattsta Sig1.jpgUser Mattsta Sig2.jpg 16:22, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
my opinion is that it will be slightly stronger, but weaker than both put together there'd be balancing issues and stuff if it wasn't, people who want this skill want it to actually be useful and not just used for looks am i right? but it cant be over powered either Getefix 22:06, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
I agree with you completely Getefix. I was talking from comparing the entire skill mistfire would most likely be weaker just because it summons half as many. But comparing a single Balthazar hound to the single mistfire I would hope that the wolf will be a little stronger like you said. Racials are supposed to be weaker than profession skills, so having this be half as weak as Hounds of Balthazar I would think would make it too weak to be all that useful. It is a other elite more. Not advantage nor disadvantage. Does the same as many others. The only thing is that only those who have bought pre-prus. If we look at all of invocation: Hounds of Balthazar, Warband Support, Summon Flesh Golem.... the difference? It is not limited to race or profession. But not is the half of hounds. It's other more as the Golem. Lasha 05:47, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

From what I understand this is a a pet you summon that doesn't dissapear untill it dies. Even if it did disapear, it would create huge balancing issues as ranger traits would make better use of it than the traits of other proffessions. If this does turn out to be a second pet I can call out indefinitely, I'll definitely buy the Guild Wars 2 standard - digital upgrade package just to effectively buy an advantage over others. 212.139.247.68 19:23, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Hmm... I guess we won't know until the game is out and we reach level thirty. Ah well. Thanks for the input , everyone! (I made the original comment before I made an account. :P) ~ ♥ Kailani! ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 18:11, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

a free elite[edit]

as of the last stress test it seems that this skill will be a "free" elite as it shows up as unlocked at level 1 (icon is in color and doesn't have the padlock associated with a fully locked skill) though as i doubt any one made level 30 in 1 hour this can not be comfermed Broran 04:21, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

not very good?[edit]

So I tried out this elite, and found that it didn't seem very good... Compared to the glyph of elementals, it takes twice as long to recharge (120->240), and lasts only half as long (60->30). Unfortunately, the damage isn't profiled for glyph of elementals, but it really feels like this is a pathetic option compared to the elemental glyph... Did I miss something? Or is this elite not very strong? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.168.104.82 (talk) at 18:08, 20 September 2012 (UTC).

It isn't tremendously strong, but it is still quite powerful. There's lots of burning, and I believe it inflicts the "chilled" condition as well. I think it is pretty perfect to be honest. I almost always use this skill when solo-ing. :) ~ ♥ Kailani! ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ 16:23, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
