No love for Mike?
He is the President of Arenanet.--173.66.189.216 07:40, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's because he worked for Blizzard in the past. - Infinite - talk 07:43, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, when they were good! I think mr. o'brien is doing a bang up job Venom20 12:40, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Blizzard are still good in many ways. Better than ArenaNet, in many ways. Customer support comes to mind. A F K When Needed 20:04, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Can't say ArenaNet hasn't the account protection down right, though~ - Infinite - talk 20:09, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Double negative indicates that accounts are secure, which is laughable. 20:44, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- As far as I can tell; when I forgot about my password after a very long break, it took weeks to retrieve it (with a lot of mailing personal details and photos of owned material back and forth). I have never had such a strong sense of security with any other game or company. So yes, I do believe accounts are secure. - Infinite - talk 02:31, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
- You're perfectly entitled to your belief, and I'm not going to invest time or energy insisting you've never had a positive experience with the company.
- On the whole ArenaNet could do with a lot of improvement, in my own opinion. You mention account security. For WoW I have a second password consisting of eight random digits which changes every ~8 seconds, only accessible from my iPod. Should my iPod ever be stolen, I doubt the person who takes it will use it to hack my WoW account which uses an e-mail address otherwise literally never used.
- I can think of nothing offered by ArenaNet which in any way rivals that level of protection, and you mention account security as seemingly being a strongpoint of theirs.
- I don't expect all companies to offer the best and latest security protection methods. But I do expect the strongpoints of a company to be a bit innovative and impressive. I don't believe the account security offered by ArenaNet is notable in anyway. I'm not saying it's bad, just that I believe it to be mediocre. A level of service which is mediocre should not be one of the best things that a comapny has to offer. A F K When Needed 13:33, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- AFAIK customer support is offered by NCSoft, which is horrendous. I would assume ArenaNet will ramp up their customer support for Guild Wars 2, which is meant to be a real MMO. Then again, it all depends on their finances — Omigawa 7:30, 29 Jan 2011 (UTC) 16:55, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
- I actually think their support is pretty good, IMO. I've had the my account got hacked into experience. It took about a week for me to send them the info that I had to, but I did get my account back. --Xu Davella 18:54, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

“… it’s never OK for players who spend money to have an unfair advantage over players who spend time.” This quote comes from your article about gems to gold. Where do you draw the line between fair and unfair? Wonderland 16:40, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
