See https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabon_(feestdag) (Apparently there is no english version of the page though there are in other languages besides dutch. Feedback 2023/09/16 -- origin of the name Mabon[edit]

As mentioned above, the name Mabon is a Wiccan holiday celebrating the autumnal equinox. The name itself originates from a Welsh mythological figure, the son of the Earth Mother Goddess (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mabon_ap_Modron). The name may not be directly connected to an original Wiccan or Celtic holiday, however, as there is apparently some evidence the holiday name was adopted in the 1970s (https://www.bpl.org/blogs/post/the-origins-and-practices-of-mabon/). It was an interesting journey tracking this down (which, for me, began on the Mabon Market page) but whether or not any of this is trivia worth noting on the main page is not my call. If there is administrative consensus to adding some or all of this, I'm happy to carefully do so. --ZeeWabbit (talk) 18:18, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

Even if the name might not be outright related to the source of the word/term, it is definitely worth adding it as a trivia. ~Sime 18:25, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
I took a shot at reducing the references above (including the Dutch one) into short sentences and added it to the trivia section. Feedback welcome. --ZeeWabbit (talk) 18:51, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
