- Yeah, I cannot find this one on my list, and yet I've found and opened some of these. Ohoni (talk) 04:31, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Why was it canned?[edit]
- There was some furor when this collection didn't make it to release. I remember the bags being tradable and prices for them spiking as rich players bought up the available stock; they aren't tradable now, so I have to wonder if my memory is failing me there. Regardless, its absence was first assumed to be a bug, and as the weeks went on and it didn't emerge, it slowly faded out of memory.
- Anyone attempting to fill the collections would soon come to a sad realization: not all of these champ bags are actually available in the game.
- The mechanics for champ bags are explained on their page. However, on the whole, champions are rare, particularly very low level ones that might give Basic and Fine champ bags. If you cross-reference communities of enemies against the drop mechanics, you'll find that there are many holes in coverage. Further, some of the only possible sources for existing bags come from non-repeatable story missions (which have largely been stripped of drops in the years that followed). And if that weren't bad enough, the lower rarity bags tend to drop less often than than the exotic ones, meaning players would probably need to grind them out - not a pleasant task when your only available champion is attached to an event chain that comes around once every hour or less.
- So, while making a champ bag collection probably made sense to a dev, it wouldn't have passed a QA person who actually had to try and finish it with real game resources. SarielV 22:27, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
