Talk:Golden Wing weapons

Is there any particular reason this set is called "Golden Wing"? As far as I can tell there is nothing from the vendor or descriptions that imply they should be called Golden Wing instead of simply Golden. Serbaayuu 23:51, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- No idea, gw2db has entries for both "golden wing" and "golden" so afaik it could be either. (wierdly gw2db lists the "golden" as having the justice mod, and the "golden wing" as having undeaad slaying.. wiki entries so confusing!) :/ --Chieftain Alex 00:30, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe I am missing something, but the ostentatiously fashionable golden wing designs for most of these weapons makes "Golden Wing weapons" a fitting name, I think. They are just reskins of Seraph weapons, after all, and Seraphs love angel imagery. Vili 点 00:59, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Should the wiki not be documenting the actual ingame name rather than a "fitting" one that is not actually mentioned anywhere by the game itself? If a player wants the article on the weapon, they're going to type "Golden X". Serbaayuu 01:27, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- My apologies, I misunderstood what the confusion was about. Looking through the article history, it seems that this page was indeed originally called "Golden weapons", but someone moved it to "Golden Wing weapons" with no explanation or comment. I don't see a reason for the name change, and as you say, the in-game items are not called Golden Wing anyway. I say move it back, although of course an admin needs to delete the other article first to make way for move, or something. Since both the PvE and PvP versions of this skin are "Golden", that is what the article should be named. Vili 点 02:16, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Would you be willing to do all that fancy moving stuff, then? I've just signed up on the wiki today to start helping out so I have no idea how to do it. :) Serbaayuu 02:23, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, Golden weapon is the previous article, but there is no Golden weapons article yet, so it could be moved there easily. That would be the proper naming convention anyway, based on other entries in Category:Weapon sets. I'll still let someone else handle it, though, because I haven't worked with these pages before and am unfamiliar with the accepted practices. Vili 点 02:37, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- I figured out how to apply the thing. :) Serbaayuu 03:10, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
