Issue that requires this to be a hotfix[edit]

Is anyone aware of what issue was so critical that this required a hotfix? Vault transports have been cheap and relatively useless for many since the game launched. What has changed since the March F&F update that this required an interruption to game play? If we can confirm a reason, I think it would be useful to include as a note on this article. 75.36.177.159 16:47, 6 April 2013 (UTC)

I don't know, maybe it is to contrast the gold sellers that used the guild storage to trade. --79.2.244.5 18:34, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
That could explain the lvl and cost increase. I dont think we really need a reason other then "expliot" though. I mean that would be stupid to stand there and give us ideas on how to cheat the system even if it is patched. Could lead to more work arounds to reopen an exploit. Actually didnt we see something fixed this last week with the guild storage? Justice 20:11, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
This doesn't stop gold sellers from using guild storage to trade; it just means that people have zone an extra time. The only way to prevent abuse of guild storage would be to put a timer on its use, similar to the one used for sending coin via in-game mail: can't remove stuff if you just joined a guild; can only remove small amounts of coin after a week; and so on.
My question isn't really about why or whether it's good for the game. I don't really care because it has no direct impact on any guild I belong to. 50 influence was already too much to pay. I can't imagine any guild wanting to waste merits on access to guild storage, when there are many, easier and/or cheaper ways to achieve the same utility.
But I do want to know what made the situation so urgent that ANet couldn't wait for the next scheduled or emergency update. Again, if we knew that, I think it would be useful to include in this article. And if we don't, then it will just be one of those small mysteries. 75.36.177.159 02:13, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
Well if it is gold sellers i was under the impression that they were making new accounts and a guild as they were getting banned by anet. It was earlier this week that anet put the time restriction for new people joining a guild to be able to use the guild storage. So now if a gold seller wants to use guild storage they have to get a merrit or wait (i think 3 days?) before they can trade and thats probably inconvient. Justice 08:56, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
@Justice, in response to your last message: 1) Do remember, this is only to use Vault Transports. Trades could still take place at the NPC. 2) "..under the impression that they were making new accounts.." There is already a restriction that states a new account cannot transfer gold or expensive items to another user until the account has been logged for x hours or is at least 1 month old. -- Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 20:31, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
