About her Korean name trivia[edit]
Is that confirmed really? the pronunciation 'Ihn(or Yin)' in her name can possibly mean a lot of other cases. For example, people/person/human(人), rightfulness(仁), seal(印), commit/accept/confess(認), and some minor usage of meanings. I don't like nailing down her name means Seal. (I am a native Korean if you're concerned of my Korean skill.)--Targal (talk) 07:23, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
- No confirmation, otherwise it would have a dev source reference. It's mainly based on dictionary entries on the meaning. Each of your suggestions could be just as correct as Ihn appears to be a rightful ruler committed to her people and nation based on the livestream info where they described her (and she wears white as a feminine figure while her half-sister Joon wears dark clothes and has to act masculine in a "men's world" as a businesswoman, which further emphasizes the yin/yang connection from Chinese philosophy, interestingly enough), so ANet could be going for that deliberate ambiguity in meaning given how these names have different meanings based on the hanja used to write them. It would be useful to see the characters' names written in New Canthan or the Korean devs' comments to confirm the exact meaning if ANet even intended any one definite meaning for these characters' names. --Kossage (talk) 14:03, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
