Duration of this overcharge makes no sense to me[edit]
What does the duration mean? In December 2013 a bot of the user: Dr ishmael (this is his bot user) has added a note, that the duration then was actually 13 seconds, not 10 seconds. But I think, one could overcharge a turret more than once at this time, so maybe it was a kind of recharge rate of the overload skill? Can someone with knowledge from 2016 and before please clarify this? --Lexxa (talk) 13:55, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- Essentially, when you overcharge a turret they actually enter an overcharged state for the listed duration (as opposed to immediately performing the overcharge action when you overcharge a turret). While in this overcharged state, their behavior is altered and they display a small visual effect. If an overcharge skill does not have a duration listed, it is likely equal to their rate of fire. This is to ensure that turrets with a slow rate of fire (like the net turret) will always perform their overcharge action, no matter when activated (as long as they have a target). e.g. Overcharging a net turret one second after it fires a regular net will have it fire an electrified net on the 9th second of its overcharge duration. Back in the day, this was relevant because you could overcharge on command (with a cooldown on the overcharge skill), but nowadays this is rarely relevant for turrets with a slow rate of fire since turrets are forced to overcharge when placed, and then never again. 「Pureblade・Talk」 17:46, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
