Wow, an internal cooldown? Please tell me it still reduces fall damage by 50% ALL the time, or they'll have made it useless. --188.109.209.193 14:51, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

Yes, the cooldown is only on the additional effect, the 50% is an always-on passive. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:02, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

Do the other professions' fall-damage traits have an internal cooldown as well, or only this one?-192.168.104.82 04:14, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

So, just the two, it looks like. Interesting. I understand why this one was given an internal cooldown, but not why ones that do damage were not. Isn't the issue actually that you take multiple sets of falling damage from a single fall in the first place? Seems they should fix the root cause, not put a bandaid on the noticeable symptoms.-192.168.104.82 04:14, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
It would definitely be nice if they adjusted slopes to not do that, but I'm guessing the reason the damaging ones weren't adjusted is because for all practical purposes you're never going to hit someone multiple times on the way down, or otherwise benefit from it triggering a lot, and therefore it doesn't really matter. Descent of Shadows was a bit abusive because if you knew where to jump you could end up with like 30 seconds of stealth, and the mechanic was not designed to ever last that long.
