Does this really need a [sic]? What is the wiki policy on singular they/them? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Silence In Death (talkcontribs).

American English rules are followed on the wiki's documentation. Konig/talk 21:43, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't quite get how it's necessary even with that true. Using singular they is widely accepted anywhere english is spoken. And you could just ignore it because the grammar is not that big a deal. Especially if it's bad grammar that's used repeatedly, you could ignore it.
Konig, here's one of the many American English definitions of "them" as a pronoun - "Referring to a person of unspecified sex". The pronoun "it" also works well, but because the target is unspecified, "it" assumes that the target is some form of lesser (a beast/animal, a plant, etc). In such a case, "them" is the pronoun to use for the unspecified target, as the target could be any form of individual of a sentient species (a "person" - our everyday use limits it to human, but I believe in such a world, "person" would include asura, norn, charr... even quaggan, krait, or grawl). It's correct in American English, so the [sic] isn't needed. ~~ User Kiomadoushi sig.png Kiomadoushi 01:28, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
