Trivia[edit]

The one who even things of ask if we should add a trivia to the FPS game "Counter Strike", go suck dust or something.. --Zora_Diem 22:31, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Was that a de_dust reference? Harhar... Totally unecessary. --zeeZUser ZeeZ Sig.png (talk) 22:34, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Not to troll, flame or anything, but counterstrike is actually written like this: "counterstrike", with means countering an attack with an attack (not blocking an attack but whatev...), Counter Strike, means nothing, so actually I think that separating the words was on purpose to mark the trivia, just saying...--Sierra81.83.98.197 23:34, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Or, you know, it could just be a strike defined by the fact that it is countering a strike. Also, why is the OP in the future? -User Eive Windgrace Harbinger of the Deceiver.png 00:57, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes, yes i know it is derived of countering a strike, but why not using 'counterstrike'- a word that exist- instead of counter strike? I know it would be like the most obvious trivia in one way and the most obvious derivation the other, but did anet separated the word on purpose or not ?--Sierra81.83.98.197 10:17, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Probably not on purpose; What else (so excluding the name) supports a reference to the game, rather than the word? CS is a first person shooter game, this skill is a spear skill. CS doesn't have a kick ability (I have no first hand knowledge of this, though), yet this skill kicks. I am rather inclined to say that this skill is not a reference, but rather just a typo on the word "Counterstrike" (or an intended typo, but that is speculation on the same level as the reference to the game). - Infinite - talk 12:35, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
The name of the game has an hyphen-minus. Like this: Counter-Strike. So it isn't counterstrike nor counter strike. Adding the hyphen-minus would probably give it away too easily, so they likely wrote counterstrike separately to hint a Counter-Strike reference. Don't over-think it. Ok. Name changed. Nevermind. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 20:31, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
