note that it is soulbound on account, and not on character! The preceding unsigned comment was added by 92.136.201.44 (talk) at 21:48, 18 November 2012 (UTC).

That's bound to confuse somebody. :-) The item is simply account-bound, in other words you can move it around between the characters of an account via the shared bank. Like other items, it'll become soulbound to a character only when that character places something in its Unused Upgrade Slot. I haven't tested that personally, mine is still languishing in the bank, but it's a safe bet. :-) Morgaine 15:35, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
I just checked on someone that had it upgraded it, the item description remains as "Account Bound", not "Soulbound". This would make it the only exception to soulbounding on upgrading. AeroJavi, 17 Decemer 2012.

Unique[edit]

Someone told me that "unique" means you can't equip two copies of it at once, but I think that was only speculation. Anyone tested? --Felbryn 22:56, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

I can confirm. Nice waste of 20gold. It should warn you of this. Oh well, at least I have one for an alt character now. 71.162.180.253 01:43, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
But is there any indication that it says it is unique?? I think Anet should include such description into the item next time so that players don't simply go and purchase/acquire it unnecessary Paladinofmm 00:56, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
Why would I be asking what "unique" meant if the item didn't say "unique"? If this were an invisible trait, we'd know what it did and be arguing over what to call it, not the other way around. --Felbryn 02:35, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

I wonder why they bothered to make it unique. If you equipped 2 of them, you wouldn't be more deadly nor more resilient than with 2 rather ordinary level 80 crafted Masterwork accessories. Sure, it's got a ton of +25 stats, but you generally can't use all of them to great effect because your trait points are unlikely to be divided evenly, and those you do use will be less than the +33/+46 you'll get from a Masterpiece piece (let alone a Rare or an Exotic). The unique is really just restrictions for restrictions' sake, like a lot of things in GW2. Morgaine 15:47, 8 December 2012 (UTC)

I imagine most characters get some noticeable use out of all of their stats, and this does give more total attribute points than other exotic accessories. Whether it's worth giving up X points in your best stat to get X+Y points spread out around your other stats is a nontrivial question (and one that I'd guess ArenaNet probably gave some thought to already).
But I imagine the reason it's unique actually has nothing to do with game balance and everything to do with it being awarded by a one-time event; the ability to buy one is intended to make up for missing the event, not to allow you to get extras (or so I'd guess).
If getting 2 of them were a balance issue, then getting one should also be a balance issue, so making it unique wouldn't really be a solution. And the Triforge Pendant offers the same stat combination for the amulet slot, and the Rune of Divinity shows a similar philosophy, too. I'd guess we'll eventually see another accessory with the same stats (probably as a reward for another one-time event)—which will seem more special because you can't equip two of them now.
On the other hand, the ascended rings are apparently all unique and my theory doesn't apply to them, so...*shrug* --Felbryn 18:11, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
This was well argued, I agree with your comments. Morgaine 11:01, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Wonderful![edit]

Extremley nice to get when you think what you had to do in the time consuming neverending death and rez cycle in the ancient karakas event. The 20 slot bag is an nice thing also to get:) The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.217.50.83 (talk) at 22:04, 18 November 2012 (UTC).

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to get something this rewarding for it, especially alongside the two exotics. Of course, this just means the people who missed the event or DCed in the middle will complain. 96.39.113.84 04:08, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

You really think that those of us who played three days, for endless hours and contributed to the end, then DCed in the final phase (both my wife and I), should be happy, and fully satisfied that we helped YOU to get a great, and unique prize. Not sure what, but it seems like something isn't quite right with that. Oliver & Olivianna Oblivious
