Questions for the candidate[edit]
How do you view the current community as being different/similar to GWW and do you anticipate that, in the end, it will end up being similar to many other communities out there? --JonTheMon 15:25, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
- The community right now isn't all that different from GWW's (although they'd hate to hear it, so don't tell them >.>). I do expect it to change after release - if GW2 garners even a fraction of WoW's playerbase, we will have tens of thousands of users all clashing with each other. This is a good thing for the wiki as a project, as more pages will be completed faster, less info will be left incomplete, etc but it will also increase the workload of the sysop team to make sure the users stay in order, particularly without policies to quote as backup. I foresee a larger sysop team than we're used to being necessary for the wiki if the userbase balloons that much, but quality over quantity is still an important distinction.
- This wiki did have a fantastic start, though; the GWW scramble to get a bunch of policies written down regardless of content ended up doing more harm than good, and it took months/years to get them fixed or axed. Some are still there, plaguing the wiki, but people don't care enough to fix them at this point. As long as we avoid pointless bureaucracy and attempts to implement arbitrary restrictions for various things, we'll be pretty set to usher in the rest of this wiki's community-to-come. -Auron 00:50, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
