Quick Note

As a quick courtesy note, although this image is already uploaded here, I uploaded it again to fit in with the user image formatting practices. This image was downloaded from GWW:File:User_Stephane_Lo_Presti.jpg, to use in Stephane Lo Presti's userspace. -- Lacky 09:45, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

This seems like redundancy for the sake of being pedantic. What's wrong with using a single image in both places? The user image naming thing is only a guideline, not a policy. —Dr Ishmael 12:24, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I saw the stub link on Stephane's page and followed the "these are images uploaded exclusively for use in the userspace" literally, so perhaps it was a little pedantic. -- Lacky 17:04, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I see - Stephane had created that page with the image link pointing here, apparently not realizing that it was a redlink or that an image of himself already existed. So you were simply providing an image for the redlink. I probably would've edited Stephane's page to point to the existing image, rather than uploading a duplicate, or maybe just asked Stephane about the redlink while pointing out the existing image to let him correct it whichever way he felt best.

While tagged user images are intended for exclusive use in userspace, there's nothing restricting the reverse: users are free to use mainspace images on their userpage (with the caveat that they can't control if/how the image changes in the future). —Dr Ishmael 17:56, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

The copyright tag would appear to indicate that dear old Stephane is the property of ArenaNet. Is someone being humorous? — snograt 22:21, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
