Feedback 2016/02/05[edit]

According to a Dev here, https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/446f25/i_want_a_pet_eating_1_infusions/czo6m7w , the gobblers are considered to be distinctly different from converters. I would suggest making two different pages for them

Mechanically they are but I don't think for the purpose of documentation they need to be separated since the user-viewed function is roughly the same. Konig 00:17, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
Yeah. I didn't split because I've only seen players in-game call all of them 'converters', even though in one hand you have the 'gobblers' and in the other hand the 'portable shops'. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 00:57, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Tarrktun Personal Delivery Portal[edit]

This thing is essentially another 'portable shop' type of converter that uses both a material and a currency, but has no limited stock. It gives gamble items that basically give back its own currency, but I don't think the differences are enough to put it separately from other portable shops. Vendors have also shops that may or may not have limited stocks, but they are all vendors anyways, after all. Other than those two differences, its behavior is virtually identical to the other currency converters. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 02:13, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

Need to add the Portable Magnetite Shard Exchange. --98.229.164.179 04:26, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Definition of a day?[edit]

I used two converters about 10 minutes before the daily reset at midnight. Then, I tried again about an hour later, which is 45 minutes after the reset. But, neither converter would work.

Can anybody confirm that a "day" for converters isn't the same as the daily reset (at 0000 UTC)? Daddicus (talk) 00:52, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Should we have "portable merchants" here?[edit]

Converter should be a subtype of "portable merchants", but not all portable merchants are not a converter. When some portable merchants are available from openworld (lottery one, or wvw provisioner), do we have any reason to keep those as "converters"? --Targal (talk) 03:55, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

Truth be told? After the convertor update we had a long talk about all of it. Ive ended up just gathering all the information together. After all those hours I didnt had much more brain power to sort it out, hoping someone else could look over it all. Especialy when you will notice subcategories of the table such "Festival Tokens" or "Crafting Materials". Most of it doesnt make any sence to me. The navigation also needs an update still. Plenty of things that needs to be done with these. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 20:53, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
I think you're misunderstanding what I am saying. Things like Portable Magnetite Shard Exchange.pngPortable Magnetite Shard Exchange, Mechanical Golem Eye.pngTarrktun Personal Delivery Portal, or Permanent Portable Provisioner.pngPermanent Portable Provisioner shouldn't be a converter because there are existing merchants that can do its job, meanwhile things like Candy Corn Gobbler Pack.pngCandy Corn Gobbler, or Herta.pngHerta do not have any alternative method to replace. I don't think these are making sense to me as a converter. It's just nothing but a portable merchant rather than a converter. --Targal (talk) 10:21, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
