User talk:Venom20/Templates/Characters
Feedback[edit]
Hi, I just tested your characters template (I know it can't be finished yet, since we don't know all professions) and I noticed that it pasted a part of the code right to the page (like here). But I guess that's only because there isn't a [[Template:Warrior-color]] yet and it isn't a mistake in the template (there isn't a Template:Warrior yet either, I guess it's the same with the other professions). However, it linked to the picture as "File:Venom20-{{{Charactername}}}.jpg". I'm ok with it linking to .jpg's but I'd say it would be very useful if there was a {{{Username}}} and the picture link was like "File:{{{Username}}}-{{{Charactername}}}.jpg". And if you need color-codes for the professions, I have some: warrior: #e3aa5a, elementalist: #c7335a, ranger: #74aa3a and necromancer: #3a9955. Those codes are from gwchars.de and I think they really suit the professions. But unfornutaly, I don't know if you can use Hexadecimale Codes on GW2W ... I hope this still was useful for you ;) --LegendKiller2 14:46, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, those colour templates and official icons (ie for Template:Warrior) are what I'm missing to truly get things rolling. I have some colours similar to those in my sandbox that I occasionally use for testing (I'll add the necro one for now). But, yes, you make a good point. I did create the image to be specifically for me. Now that I think of that, it's not very user friendly eh?! I'll see if I can take care of that. Thanks!! Venom20 16:28, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I didn't upload any pictures yet but it looks like it would work. What I didn't expect was that, even though there is a Template:E-color, the wiki still keeps pasting some of the code onto my page. It is at the elementalist one (here):
- | width="250" valign="top" align="center" style="background: #FFBBBB; border: 2px groove #BB3333; padding: .5em 1em; margin: 1em;"|
- I don't understand why it keeps pasting that because there are no red-linked templates in it anymore ... It also doesn't show things like "race" or "note" but I think thats because it somehow doesn't accept the code up there. €: Oh wait, do you need a space between the " and the | at the end of that code? --LegendKiller2 17:10, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- I closed it off. So now it should remove those arbitrary lines of code. I would really like to have those color templates set up and profession templates, lol. Eventually each section (notes, characters, etc) will be colapsable. I may end up adding more sections, right now there are only 4: equipped, titles, notes, aspirations. I have many more icons though, so expansions may be in the future. Venom20 19:39, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- I remember why I didn't close it now. When it's closed up it breaks the page. I wasn't able to fix this last time.... Venom20 19:44, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

I think I might know your problem. Are you looking for something that does like here? Ariyen 21:37, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
cape[edit]
I think, there won't be specific cape items but instead, this slot will be for the guild cape (as in gw1). --LegendKiller2 17:35, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
